What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Construction position at TimeLine?
The Director of Construction is responsible for leading the production team and driving all technology initiatives. This position will champion all construction projects and work closely with Designers, Architects, Sales and Finance, as well as municipalities, jurisdictions, and agencies who oversee all aspects of building in California, to ensure success. The Director will oversee an organization to deliver on key financial goals and meet all project deadlines to effectively complete tasks at or below budget. They will have the ability to make decisions for large and small scope projects with minimal oversight.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees Production Team as well as Subcontractors to ensure their performance against plan is tracked, measured, and communicated.
- Oversees and supports Project Managers and Superintendents to proactively identify construction challenges and improve construction methods.
- Regularly review timing/schedule, budget, risk, and project planning to ensure work streams within project and the program stay on track.
- Sets targets, objectives and responsibilities for any supervised staff.
- Accountable for ensuring program tracking mechanisms, processes drive construction goals, objectives and can support organization-wide communication & reporting of the Production Team’s progress.
- Perform an in-depth analysis of the projects to deliver budget, metrics, and final deliverables to internal customers.
- Deals with contract disputes and mitigates the impact of any issues.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction
- 5-10 years of experience in Residential / Commercial Construction
- BIM / VDC Experience
- Low Voltage Experience
- POE Experience
- Co-Construct / Traction Tools Exp (Nice to Have)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
