About US: We are a full-fledged program, not just a regular swim program. Our employees have the opportunity to be trained anywhere from a swim instructor to a swim coach. Swimm with Timm offers benefits after 90 days to all staff working 20 hours as well as great rates with most Swim Instructors earning $24-26 an hour! In addition, we also offer a 401K plan! About YOU: You love being in the water and educating kids of all ages! Instructors should have a minimum of two years’ group childcare, teaching, or coaching experience and be willing to obtain CPR, first aid, and lifesaving certifications within the first six months of employment.

- All Swim Instructors will be required to complete a minimum of one full group session of training with the Owner or another Lead and will be supervised while instructing
- Leads beginner group swim lessons while enforcing pool policies, rules, and regulations
- Maintains constant supervision of students, will identify students who need assistance, and supports students as necessary to ensure a positive learning environment
- Adheres to policies and procedures in organizational guidelines, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency incidents
- Maintains positive relationships with parents, caregivers, and other staff as necessary
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Must have or be willing to obtain CPR, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding Certificate
- Must have clean CORI and SORI background check
- Ability to recognize and remedy hazardous and dangerous situations
- Ability to swim in shallow and deep water and tread water
- Ability to work independently and possess energy and enthusiasm
- Ability to recognize students who may need assistance
- Ability to demonstrate skills as required for class content and use teaching aids such as kickboards, diving rings, lifejackets, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-3 years of experience on a competitive swim team
- 1-3 years of experience as a swim team coach
- 1-3 years of experience as a swim instructor
Work Environment
The Swim Instructor must remain indoors at a facility pool with water and air temperatures of 75 degrees or higher at all times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to chemicals and fumes.
Physical Demands
Walks, runs, sits, stands, bends, lifts, swims and moves continually during working hours; is subject to lifting over 50 pounds. Must remain alert and able to recognize distress signals.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position and hours will vary; evenings and weekends are required.
