In 2004, Patriot Dozer Services was formed as a family operation by Jason Tindol while working with his father Dale. Tindol Construction quickly became known for getting the job done right and is now run by Jason and his brother Garrett Tindol. The company was renamed Tindol Construction to better suit the growing service lines. Today, we provide civil site construction services throughout the U.S. in the Oil & Gas facility and pipeline, Wind, Solar and Energy Storage sectors. Additionally, we provide aggregate materials to various clients and projects in South Texas and along the Gulf Coast through our South Texas aggregate quarries. We have supported the buildout of more than 6,500 megawatts of solar and wind projects to date!

Tindol Construction is currently seeking an Estimator who will be responsible for gathering, calculating, and compiling data to produce project estimates; for smaller projects, this position will also prepare the full estimate. Strong communication skills are necessary as you will be interacting with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success in this role.

What will you be doing?

Organization, flexibility, excellent customer focus, and strong communication are critical in performing duties which may include:

  • Build Project Estimates
  • Complete quantity take-offs and summations of materials
  • Solicit vendor partners, obtain bid estimates, and time projections for preparing vendor proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheets
  • Support team in sending out Request for Proposal (RFP’s) to project partners and subcontractors
  • Determine all pricing options and the appropriate price for the project
  • Support lead estimator in data input into estimating software program (AGTEK and Other)
  • Perform archive filing and historical cost data gathering
  • Participate in plan and estimate review meetings, other project review meetings, and site investigations, as needed
  • Support lead estimator in gathering information from local government and private entities that may affect project (i.e. permits, hearings, etc.)
  • Help manage Addendum log and documents from customers/clients
  • Provide direction to new Estimators as they join the team
  • May provide or support training to other estimators and interns

Requirements

Minimum one-year civil construction estimating experience, including exposure to materials management and project operations

  • Current driver’s license
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and handle multiple project tasks
  • Applicable mathematical skills
  • Familiarity with building/estimating techniques and software a bonus but not necessarily required: AGTEK, ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth
  • Positive professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Tindol Construction policies

Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar or equivalent experience

Pay: $41,679.53 - $110,310.42 per year
