Position Summary
The primary function of the Patient Access Coordinator (PAC) is to assist the Senior Director of Patient Access in the management and improvement of processes for patient access in any unit/clinic using PARs/Registrars for patient access including: TCOT Clinics, Emergency Department, Perioperative Surgical Home, and as deployed to other areas of the hospital through designated and approved workflows. The PAC provides similar support and services to scheduling referral management, and authorization processes.
Essential Functions
-Develop and distribute employee schedules to cover all shifts with the assistance of the Lead Patient Access Representative
-Conduct formal training for PARs and managers including orientation and updates.
-Tutor staff when needed, providing at-the-elbow support or in formal classroom settings.
-Assist in the development and implementation of additional classes for staff.
-Will be accountable for working the Epic work queues assigned on a daily basis.
-Provide excellent customer service to internal and external physician offices and hospital departments.
-Acts as a liaison to Case Management and other leaders to ensure the integrity of the revenue cycle.
-Attends meetings as requested.
-Coordinates and manages project tasks to ensure project delivery within allotted budget and timelines.
-Ensures compliance with TRMC health system standards and procedures.
-Maintains clear, accurate and up-to-date operations documents/procedures for reference purposes.
-Complies with Texas Joint Commission requirements and assists in training of staff within
the defined areas of responsibility.
-Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
-Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information
Confidential.
-Maintains knowledge and skills by participating in required educational opportunities and
seeking additional educational opportunities as needed.
-Attends and supports any marketing initiatives for TCOT.
-Assists in developing and tracking competencies/report cards for all employees within the defined areas.
-Responsible for tracking and reporting on any payment plans for all of TCOT.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
-Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
-Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience
-Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office of hospital
