Job Description
- Assess credit worthiness of applicants (mortgage and other credit products) through undertaking detailed risk assessment analysis on clients, security/property and lending applications
- Ensure that procedures and decisions comply with credit policy and best practice standards
- Motivate and support decisions through the analysis of financial information such as bank statements, financial statements and management accounts
- Provide quality service to internal customers and liaise with other staff within the company, such as sales managers, further lending staff, unsecured lending staff and registrations officers
- Stay informed about the legal, compliance and market – risk-related issues involved in the approval of credit
- Provide regular feedback on the submission of loan applications to management
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
- BCom Honours in Economics, Finance, or related disciplines or alternatively a BSC Degree in
Statistics or Mathematics (Quantitative degree) or equivalent. - Analytical skills (ability to extract and analyse large volumes of data), coding skills (SQL, SAS, Python or related skills), model building skills
- 5 Years working in a Credit Risk environment preferably in an acquisitions role and preferably already at management level
