Job Description:
Growing Manufacturing company located in Downers Grove, IL is in search of a full-time accountant. Desired applicant should be able to perform routine bookkeeping duties, have strong analytical skills, be detailed orientated and able to multi-task. Our desired candidate should have exceptional communication skills both written and oral. Must be proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise and Excel. Candidate would be eligible for our Employee Stock Ownership Program which provides stock ownership in the company.
Responsibilities:
· Accounts payable
- Matching vendor packing slips and verifying against vendor invoices.
- Work with purchasing for any price discrepancies.
- Pay all vendor invoices.
· Accounts receivable
- Enter customer sales orders.
- Invoice customers for shipped orders.
- Collect customer payments and apply discounts if appropriate.
- Contact customer regarding discrepancies.
· Report variances.
· Cost and inventory accounting and revenue recognition
· Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
· Support month-end and year-end closing process.
· Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
· Manage and comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements.
· Conduct analysis and work with executive team to make future forecasts and reporting for board members and ESOP team.
· Manage and coordinate payroll requirements with 3rd party payroll company.
Requirements & Skills
· 5 years of overall combined accounting and financial experience
· Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
· Experience with creating financial statements.
· Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end closing process.
· Excellent accounting software and administration skills
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, and a high level of QuickBooks knowledge
