What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Engineer Scientist position at TMC Technologies?
TMC is looking for a Journeyman Engineer / Scientist to to support the Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department (B Department) through their Radar Systems Division (B40) at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, VA. B40 provides Sensor Systems expertise across the entire acquisition lifecycle from concept exploration through sustainment of Navy and Marine Corps Radar Systems. This is a full-time direct hire for an immediately available position.
TASKING MAY INCLUDE:
Provide SME with combat system integration skills to support continued efforts for System Concept Review, Systems Requirements Review, PDR, CDR, TPR, and CSCP/Combat System Certifications
Participate in Engineering Technical Reviews (ETRs), Software Increment Reviews (SWIRs), In-Process Reviews (IPRs), and Change Review Boards/Configuration Control Boards (CRBs/CCBs).
Provide radar system engineering consultation in the area of risk management and generate radar-specific program risks
Deliver emails, memos, and reports, as required
Review specifications (Radar and weapon system) and make recommendations for improvements and/or corrections.
Support detailed design reviews of Radar waveforms and unique signal processing, digital beamforming, and clutter rejection techniques.
Education/Professional Certifications:
Must meet one or more of the following:
(a) A Bachelor's degree from an a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering
(b) A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics
(c) A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics
(d) A Ph.D degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
General Sensor Engineering Experience:
General Experience is defined as experience since award of degree
(a) Minimum four (4) years if Candidate has a Bachelor's degree
(b) Minimum two (2) years if Candidate has a Master's degree
Specialized Experience:
(a) Demonstrated experience and ability to perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced sensor systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration.
