TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Solutions Architect working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position will be the lead technical resource over TMC’s finance and accounting systems. The Solution Architect will be responsible for the architecture, design, and technical oversight over back-office implementations as part of TMC’s 3rd Party Applications team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide architecture, design, technical oversight over the technology within TMC’s back office. This includes financial, payroll and accounting systems
- Serve as technical subject matter expert (SME) for all things related to 3rd party systems within the finance and accounting areas.
- Design and implement integrations with and between accounting systems and applications within the back office.
- Serve on the Enterprise Architecture team, providing insight into application solutions and 3rd party/vendor solutions.
- Partner with vendors to provide strategic direction and support of applications and solutions.
- Work closely with other enterprise initiatives such as the maturity of TMC’s Transportation Management System (TMS)
- Work with the PMO and internal teams to provide insight on complex technology matters.
- Create proof-of-concepts to demonstrate viability of solutions under consideration.
- Work with business stakeholders to define business and technical requirements.
- Participate in enterprise road mapping and strategic planning meetings.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years of experience in designing, engineering or supporting financial technology solutions.
- Strong understanding of web services, API frameworks, and micro-service architectures.
- Experience in enterprise systems, integration architecture, governance, and cloud-based ecosystems.
- Experience with software development life cycle processes or Agile development.
- Strong communication, collaboration and consultation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Management, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related field.
PREFERRED CONSIDERATION:
- Experience working in technology in the Transportation/Logistics industry.
- Experience with Integration Platform as a Service (IPaaS) solutions.
- Exposure to modern Enterprise Architecture frameworks and tools.
