Job Summary
This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in financial software and spreadsheets. This position works closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate record-keeping and financial reporting.
Job Duties
- 1. Supervise, assign or check the work of student workers, temporary employees or other lower level clerical employees performing similar accounting or auditing tasks.
- 2. Serves as backup to the Bursar which includes building fee charts, assessing fees, creating deadlines, purging of student schedules, refund audit, website maintenance, etc.
- 3. Research, reconcile and balance complex financial records with accounting reports and related financial information.
- 4. Billing and collection including analyzing and classifying accounts to be placed at collections.
- 5. Coordinates with the attorney general to keep bankruptcy guidelines and procedures current as well as maintain cases held with the court.
- 6. Responsible for maintaining, monitoring and responding to all Business Office email.
- 7. Provide customer support to students and third party vendors regarding account balances.
- 8. Interprets policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree with two years related experience - preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years related work experience in office environment, including supervisory and training experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work independently to solve problems and handle a variety of complicated assignments simultaneously. Ability and willingness to work flexible, extended hours to assist with registrations and other peak times.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others to provide quality customer service and guidance related to adherence to policies and procedures.
Experience as personal computer user with basic understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word software).
