Job Summary
This is a full-time, 12-month, grant-funded position in the Early Childhood Education program.
The Child Care Aide 2 is under close supervision under the Director and Lead Teacher. The Child Care Aide 2 is responsible for implementing program, goals and classroom objectives, and performing related work as required for children six (6) weeks to five (5) years old.
Job Duties
- Assists in directing and directs activities of children in program.
- Assists with supervision of small and large groups of children.
- Assists children with self-help skills.
- Work with individual children on specific tasks and helps with serving meals and snacks.
- Helps in planning and developing each day's activities.
- Assists with the preparation and presentation of educational materials.
- Records, evaluates, assesses and updates regularly class attendance, etc.
- Attends all related training and seminars.
- Attends all parent related activities, conducts or assist with parent conferences.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of child care experience.
- Early childhood Education Child Development Credential (CDA) or higher is preferred.
- Applicant is required to obtain CDA within 6 months
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of instructional methods, materials and program operations for six (6) weeks to five (5) years.
- Knowledge of recreational activities associated with creative play.
- Knowledge of the psychological and biological needs of children.
- Ability to make decision, both within and without the guidelines of established procedures.
- Ability to react quickly and calmly in stressful situations.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public, children, and other employees.
