Job Summary
Tennessee Board of Regents office is located in Nashville, Tennessee. While the Office of Student Services maintains a shared workspace, currently the Coordinator’s position’s primary working environment will be remote. While there are no plans to change this at this time, the employer reserves the right to change this in the future. Travel will be required for meetings at the system office in Nashville, as well as meetings throughout the state of Tennessee. Travel required to the system office is non-reimbursed.
The Student Success Coordinator reports to and serves to support the position of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Success and has responsibilities in the areas of Perkins, Methods of Administration (MOA), and other assignments as determined by the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Success.
The Student Success Coordinator will provide technical assistance to all forty colleges in the College System of Tennessee as it relates to The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V), MOA, and working with CTE specific student retention efforts. This will include implementing and scaling initatives that close achievement gaps, increase retention, and increase graduation rates of special populations within career and technical education. Furthermore, the coordinator will assist the office of Student Success staff with the implementation of additional strategic student success initiatives under the direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor. The coordinator will work within the TBR’s strategic plan related to providing technical assistance and monitoring for each strategy area. Also, the coordinator is responsible for collecting and visualizing related data in software programs.
Job Duties
- 45% - Work with the Assistant Vice Chancellor in the responsibilities for the grant program realized under The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) and subsequent reauthorizations which support the community and technical colleges that lead to an associate in applied science degree programs of study, technical certificates, and related career and technical programs. Collecting and visualizing related data in software programs. - (Essential)
- 20% - Work with the Assistant Vice Chancellor to provide technical assistance and training to personnel related to the career and technical education programs at the community and technical colleges that receive funds through Perkins V (and subsequent reauthorizations). Conducts monitoring visits of institutions that receive funding under this Act. Maintain and update professional knowledge of federal and state legislation, regulations and guidelines. Work with the community and technical colleges to collect, review, and report data related to the requirements of the Perkins V federal legislation. Provide data for TBR purposes as related to the position. This includes the federal Consolidated Annual Report [CAR] that contains data relevant to reporting to the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Career Technical and Adult Education. Coordination with the TBR Office of Research & Assessment. Review, process and recommend approval of annual grant requests. Work with campuses on updating annual and four-year applications, along with college Comprehensive Local Needs Assessments (CLNA). Work with the colleges and provide regualre technical assistance concerning the grant application process, CLNA, advisory committees, and the web-data reporting. Work with the IT and the Office of Research & Assessment on the maintaining and updating the web-data reporting site. - (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications
• Five (5) years in career-technical education, industry training, or related background
• Two (2) years of higher education experience
• Bachelor’s degree in education (or a related degree) with emphasis on career-technical education, organizational psychology with emphasis in competency-based industry training, or a related field
• Experience with Microsoft Excel
