We are looking for candidates who are collaborative, flexible, compassionate, demonstrate a strong passion for early childhood education and a love of working with young children and families.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Creating responsive, safe, joyful and nurturing learning environments for children that foster inquiry, exploration, learning & reflection.
  • Document children’s learning through photographs, anecdotes, panels and mini-stories.
  • Available to work morning and/or afternoon shifts between  (8:30 AM- 5:30 PM).
  • Strong oral and written communication with parents, children and co-teachers.
  • Helping with preparing, arranging, cleaning, and maintaining indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules.
  • Maintaining control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth.
  • Planning, coordinating, and conducting activities for program participants based on observed children’s interest and developmental needs.
  • Possess a teamwork mindset, strong communication skills, organization skills and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to build rapport with children, families and peers


Conditions of Employment

  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with licensing.
  • Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
  • Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required.
  • Duties involve working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Posses a valid CPR/First Aid certification.


Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for each position/pay level are as follows:

Entry Level: Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate. Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal). Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties involve working both indoors and outdoors. Documentation of good mental and physical health and freedom from communicable disease. Satisfactory completion (no convictions of child abuse, molestation, neglect, or battering; or drug related offense) of Local and National Background Checks.

Level 2 Co-Teacher: In addition to the above, candidate must possess: six (6) months experience working in a group program with children and 12 semester hours of college credit with course content directly related to Early Childhood/Child Development or a current CDA Credential.

Level 3 Lead Teacher  (based on experience): Candidate must possess 12 months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus an associate's degree or least 60 semester hours of college credit which included a major course of study (24 semester hours) with content directly related to the age group to which assigned, for example, Child Development Centers: Early Childhood Education/Child Development.

****Preference and highest pay reserved for those with:

1. A bachelor's degree or at least 120 semester hours which included a major course or study (24 semester hours) with content as indicated above.
2. Possess and maintain a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or other nationally recognized Youth Development Credential.
3. Knowledge of and experience in play-based programs using methods such as the Reggio Emilia approach. Have a deep understanding of the cognitive and social-emotional development of children ages 2-5 years, and be a strong collaborative leader in the field of early childhood education.
