We are seeking a qualified Paralegal to join our team.
Position Overview
This role will work on new and existing client contracts, review and prepare litigation related documents, and provide compliance opinions and oversights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and drafting of legal documents including client contracts, master service agreements, and policy forms.
- Handle contract negotiations with clients and vendors ensuring company needs are met.
- Assist the legal and compliance teams with drafting and reviewing responses to complaints and appeals on a timely basis. Provide policy wording updates throughout the year, including drafting new language, and applying feedback from reviewers.
- Support lead counsel on litigation matters including responding to discovery requests, negotiations, and depositions.
- Act as the company’s compliance officer including managing questions and issues related to GDPR, HIPAA, OFAC, and State privacy statutes.
- Review marketing materials for accuracy and compliant language.
Performance Objectives:
30 Days – Learn and observe the business needs and understand how On Call operates as a small company intertwined within a larger company. Recognize how day-to-day business is conducted and use fine-tuned organizational skills to verse yourself in On Call’s clients and business policies.
90 Days – In the first quarter be able to finalize standard client contracts. Understand the business and multinational insurance company. Build rapport with the Leadership Team of multiple groups within the organization.
Six Months– Represent On Call International on the phone with clients negotiating contractual terms, and compliance administration. Work on new and existing client contract terms including MSA’s, Business Administration agreements, and Statements of Work.
Position Knowledge & Requirements
Education Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
Experience 5 years of relevant and progressive Paralegal professional experience.
Qualities & Skills
- Proven mastery of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent writing, organization and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to read and draft legal documents when necessary.
- Must be able to work well under time constraints and be able to juggle multiple projects and priorities.
