As a TEL Manufacturing & Engineering America (TMEA) Global Spares Material Manager, you will lead a department responsible for developing the strategy and managing the movement of material to meet TMEA service level goals. As a manager you will lead a team and influence stakeholders in pursuit of optimized material flow supporting. As a global manager you will work across cultures, time zones and strategic initiatives while maintaining focus on achieving financial and customer equipment uptime goals. Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.
As a part of the role the leader will receive assignments with varying levels of details aligned with TEL strategic initiatives. It is the leader responsibility to form objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Scope of work includes familiarity with project plans, milestones identification, risk analysis, trade-off communication and financial acumen. You will provide guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. As needed recommend changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).
The Global Spares Material Manger will be responsible to support the Supply Chain Solutions team on finding additional cost savings opportunities in four major enablers, but not limited to: Customer Engagement, Inventory Influence, Equipment Characteristics, and Financial Acumen. A solid background in problem solving, LEAN practices and statistical analysis will support continuous improvement of the TEL value stream as measured by lead-time and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
· Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
· Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
· Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.
· Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials, utilities, and outside services, as well coordinating global fulfillment efforts.
· Coordinates with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory carrying costs.
· Reviews and plans requirements for acceptable inventory.
· Quality System Compliance understanding and adherence to ensure processes consistently fulfill requirements and meet customer needs.
· Continuous improvement of products, services, and processes through incremental and breakthrough improvements.
· May work with customers in auditing customer inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies.
· Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
· Oversees plans and directs schedules as well as project budgets.
· Applying Lean to eliminate waste in the value creation process and controlling variation by reducing the probability that an error or defect will occur.
· Project Leadership though the discipline of initiating, planning, executing, and controlling the work of a cross functional team to achieve defined goals and meet success criteria within the given constraints.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience
Preferred Requirements
- Seven (7) or more years product engineering, manufacturing operations or supply chain planning experience leading cross functional projects.
- A proven track record in the delivery of moderate to large projects to time and budget within a regulated environment (PMP certification a plus).
- Lean and/or Six Sigma Certification.
- Experience in Capital Equipment Manufacturing preferred
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, often across different sites and geographies.
- Broad understanding of ISO regulated environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project to develop schedules, allocate resources and establish program budgets.
- A self-motivated team player with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to convey business and technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and technical teams in a clear and concise manner.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of interdisciplinary teams.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
