Work in conjunction with the Commercial Insurance Manager and the Marketing Department in the placement of Commercial Insurance accounts in accordance with the goals, objectives, and policies of the agency.
Maintain strong and effective relationships with the business community, bank affiliates, and the insurance carriers we represent.
Responsibilities:
- Work as a team within the Marketing Department and with the production staff, in the placement of new and renewal business.
- Negotiate mutually beneficial terms and conditions of Property, Casualty and Professional insurance programs for prospective and current clients.
- Analyze and prepare detailed Marketing Analysis and proposals for presentation to prospective and current clients.
- Provide technical marketing expertise to the Commercial Insurance Account Manger Team.
- Maintain positive relationships with company representatives through ongoing contact, communication and meetings.
- Participate and present in weekly Marketing Department meetings.
- Maintain and utilize the Commercial Lines Marketing Log and other report functions.
- Full utilization of the Automation System, Agency Procedures, and E&O guidelines.
- Stay informed regarding insurance technical knowledge, market trends (trade journals), agency automation, company information (bulletins and publications), and other operating techniques; and disseminate information to the Team as needed.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and customer service through consent monitoring and improving ongoing service delivery methods.
- Continuously develop interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with internal and external personnel, and possess the ability to influence others through Continuing Education and Training classes.
- Abide by all agency policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Perform Special Projects at management’s request
Qualifications:
- Able to work in a fast-paced, multiple-task environment with a high-disruption rate
- Resolve conflict with minimum negative impact on all parties
- Work independently, prioritize work in order to meet goals in all areas
- Must be a self-starter, with forward-thinking capabilities, and demonstrate good organizational skills.
- Must be imaginative and creative with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Should have a thorough understanding of Commercial Insurance underwriting and coverages.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. AMS-360 experience is desirable.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field of study. CPCU or CIC designation preferred.
- Property and Casualty Insurance License.
- Five years’ experience in Commercial Lines insurance is necessary.
