Our app connects consumers to surplus food from local restaurants and grocery stores, such as pastries, fresh produce, sushi and more, which would otherwise be thrown away to make room for the next batch of goods. Founded in 2016, we’ve saved over 150 million meals across 17 countries
We have made great strides to get to where we are and have a huge ambition to make an even bigger impact on the world. The role of the Front-End Engineer will be critical in inspiring millions more people to use Too Good To Go and make saving meals with us their weekly habit.
The Mission
As a Frontend Developer, within the digital marketing department, you will work to accelerate the purpose of the website. Acquiring new business leads and signing up new users to save more food on a global level. You will use the latest technology and design trends, keeping the user journey clear and efficient whilst building a scalable application.
Your role
Situated in the website team located in the digital marketing department, reporting to the tech lead. You will be responsible for extending and maintaining the website application used across 17 markets. To do this you will work in close collaboration with our backend developer, tech lead, product owner and UX designer.
- Extend the website application together with the team across 17 markets and 21 localisations.
- Ensure best practices are kept, building scalable solutions and clean code
- Implement new campaigns and pages in collaboration with marketeers and our UX designer
- Maintain all third parties and vendors, ensuring that they are up to date and that security risks are limited
- Keeping a tidy technical hygiene in exception reporting tools, making sure all corners of the website applications are functional
- Implement solutions that will enhance our SEO value
- Keep high performance and lighting fast loading times as well as a great user experience across the websites
Requirements
- Proven experience from a similar role.
- Experience with VueJS/NuxtJS or similar frameworks like ReactJS; working with RESTFUL APIs
- Expert level in HTML, Javascript, CSS/SCSS
- Passionate for latest front-end technologies and web design trends
- Honors high performance in terms of website speed, user experience and accessibility
- Working with continuous delivery/integration and scrum methodologies
- Ability to keep focus and adhere to deadlines
- Pragmatic mindset. You’re passionate, hands-on & autonomous. You take the initiative to get the job done, no matter how hard the problem seems - determination will get you there.
- A background working in collaborative multidisciplinary teams.
- Team Player. You have good communication skills and the ability to translate unclear ideas into tangible actions and measurable objectives.
- Eco-conscious. You’re truly passionate about sustainability and fighting food waste as you know the urgency of change and action for the planet
