We design, manufacture and sell in the US and abroad some of the best lighting in the world. We recently added a division that complements our lighting products with innovative sound, video and air quality solutions to improve indoor well-being.

Currently, we are just over 64 employees with an expected growth to 75 in the next several years. The company is around 12 million in revenues that have consistently grown each year. We were able to remain open in 2020 by being flexible and looking for solutions to keep moving, growing and expanding. We have plans for expansion as the Light, Building and Manufacturing industries ramp up for business.


The Position:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough and organized Controller to join our team. This position’s primary function is to prepare projections and financial reports concerning the company's financial wellbeing and to provide management with recommendations.

While the Accounting Manager focuses more on the day to day, and is a more client-facing position with regards to AP and AR. The Controller is more focused on the data driven data so that Management can steer the company towards profitability and expansion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish standards for company finances and documentation.
  • Check the work of others to make sure that it is accurate for checks and balances and correct reporting.
  • Monthly and Weekly cash planning with the Accounting Manager and CEO.
  • On time completion of Month End Close.
  • Incoming inventory scheduling in coordination with CEO, contact with vendors when needed.
  • Coordination point for Purchasing Department as needed.
  • Inventory corrections and leading semi-annual Inventory Counts.
  • Financial Report Compilation to ownership (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Budget Variance, Cash Flow Analysis).
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of local, state, and federal tax returns/reports.
  • Maintain legal and contractual business documents and records, ensuring all files are up to date.
  • Direct coordination with CPA Firm for Fed. Income Tax Returns, ensuring accuracy at filing.
  • Banking and Lender relationships - loan applications, annual reporting to bank, refinancing activity, etc.
  • Accounting-related service provider coordination and contract renewals.
  • Company business insurance oversight.

Required experience & qualifications:

  • 7 years of Accounting and Finance experience.
  • 5 years of Accounting-related Management experience.
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred, can be in the process or looking to obtain in future.
  • Required for this role (non negotiable) - Must have strong knowledge and experience with Taxes and Tax codes.
  • Experience in manufacturing is preferred. We import, export and manage inventory.
  • Strong financial and Analytical acumen.
  • Professional, business written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines.
  • Prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to think with long-term strategy when making decisions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team.
  • Strong knowledge and proficient with ERP Systems such as Quickbooks. NetSuite experience is preferred.

Drug Free Workplace:

We are a Florida Drug Free Workplace. The company requires all employees to complete a pre-employment 10 panel drug screen; employment status will be dependent on ability to pass this screening and partake on quarterly random screen.

Offered salary & other compensations:

Full-time in-house, on-site salaried position, expected to complete and meet expected deliverables and deadlines. Salary between $80,000 to $100,000 negotiable based on skillset and experience.

After 30-day waiting period employees become eligible for Medical, Dental and Vision insurance (with employer contribution), paid holidays and paid time off that increases with longevity. After a 90-day waiting period, employees over the age of 21 become eligible to participate in the company sponsored 401(k) plan.
