Candidate Qualifications
- minimum of 10 years experience with health and safety in an industrial environment (construction, mining, lumber yard, scrap yard, industrial industry)
- hands-on leader (50% field / 50% office)
- comfortable managing from the field versus the office
- experience in preparing weekly safety reports and safety bulletins
- ability to develop short and long-term safety goals
- expert in identifying hazards, implementing corrective processes, and conducting safety training
- ability to perform incent and injury investigations, root causes analysis, and corrective actions
- detail-oriented
- ability to easily build relationships and engage compliance of safety initiatives with all levels of team members and management
- proactive and process-driven
- familiar with legal/governmental requirements, including local/state/federal requirements, NFPA compliance, DOT compliance, NEC, Worker's Compensation, etc
- ability to manage safety-related contracts and budget
- CHST, ASP, or CSP preferred
