JOB SUMMARY
Employee in this position will grind, sand, clean/polish/trim objects or parts, to finish, correct defects, or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using both hand and power tools
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain production within quality standards
2. Follow all applicable safety policies and procedures
3. Complete all required safety training
4. Perform clean-ups, and maintain area cleanliness
5. Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area
6. Assist Plant Manager and Supervisor as needed
7. To work as a team with others in plant
8. Work any overtime as needed
9. Grinds, sand, clean/polish/trim objects or parts, to finish, correct defects, or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using both hand and power tools
10. Marks defects for repair
11. Moves controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during grinding and polishing processes
12. Selects tools and/or abrasives, according to materials, sizes and shapes of pieces, amount of stock to be removed, finished specified, and steps in finishing processes
13. Measures and marks objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met
14. Verifies quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them
15. Trims, scrapes, or de-burrs parts using both hand and power equipment
16. Removes completed work pieces from equipment or work tables
17. Loads or adjusts work pieces on to equipment or work tables
18. Monitors gauges and dials to ensure equipment is working properly, performs routine maintenance
19. Experience in driving fork truck
20. Any and all other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
21. Your attendance during scheduled work hours is an essential function of this position

8. Arm-hand steadiness - the ability to keep the hand and arm steady while moving the arm or while holding the arm and hand in one position
9. Lifting – raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position, 8 hours per day, intermittently
10. Light lifting – raising objects under 15 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from one position to another, 8 hours per day, intermittently
11. Moderate lifting – raising objects 15-44 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from one position to another, 8 hours per day, intermittently

1. Visual requirement – employee is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operate machines and power tools, where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach
2. Hearing requirement - perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. The ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations of sounds
G. ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS
1. The employee is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body
2. The employee is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the employee to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise
