Join the Torah Academy General Studies staff in a unique private school setting where class sizes typically range from 8 - 14 students and there is a strong community involvement and dedication to the school. Torah Academy offers a “dual curriculum” in which students take their General Studies for half of the day and their Judaic Studies the other half of the day. Torah Academy serves the Jewish community in which most of the children are Orthodox or Orthodox leaning. The school has existed for the past 77 years and currently houses 300 students in the building (Early Childhood - 8th grade).
This position is for a 6th grade language arts teacher who will also teach some social studies.
Under the direction of the principal, elementary school teachers:
1. Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula/learning targets based on the MN Academic Standards for Language Arts (and Social Studies)
2. Select and suggest materials and supplies to implement lessons
3. Use a variety of formal and summative assessments to evaluate and record student growth in an organized and timely manner
4. Maintain a high level of rigor that has been established.
5. Maintain student attendance records, grades, and parent emails in a timely manner
6. Adhere to the mission statement of Torah Academy and demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural background and differing perspectives the learners bring to Torah Academy.
Curricula materials/resources:
• Vocabulary and Grammar books.
• A designated scope and sequence with learning targets that allow flexibility to bring individual creativity into the classroom.
• ParentLocker - Gradebook, emails, attendance

• MN Teacher Licensure
• Out of State Teaching License
