About Total Claims Management:


Total Claims Management, Inc. (TCM) is a 3rd party transportation loss/damage claims management company. TCM serves the entire logistics community with claims management applications for loss/damage claims specializing in both automotive and general freight claims. TCM provides claims management using the client’s system or TCM’s web-based claims management software.

Position Summary (This is an Entry-Level Role)

TCM is looking for a self-motivated, analytical entry-level customer service/claims clerk that will evaluate supporting documentation for the completion of freight claims and determination of liability. While working in an office setting, they will be responsible for entering claims a web-based claims system, upkeep of the files related to claims, reporting and other office work. This is a fast paced environment requiring high use of multi-tasking, critical thinking and customer service skills providing real-time claim solutions for multiple entities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze claims
  • Enter new claim data in system and disseminate claims to the appropriate motor and rail carriers
  • Acts as liaison between customer, consignees, mills and carriers
  • Handle claim management functions; post salvage amendments, acknowledgments and declinations in system
  • Mail out claim packets, follow-up letters and amendments
  • Responsible for answering calls and assisting customers who receive product damage
  • Maintain open and closed claim files in accordance to record retention policy
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Good negotiations skills
  • Qualified candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Previous office experience required
  • Previous office management desired
  • Some college course experience desired
  • Experience in SAP preferred


Compensation:

Hourly/non-exempt; Starting rate: $14/hr.
Benefits including medical, dental, vision, LTD, life insurance and 401 K participation.
