Summary
The driving goal behind the way our team operates during a ‘Sort & Inspection ’ of parts is to first and foremost contain the customer’s problem and then to immediately provide the support needed for the supplier to resolve the problem and eliminate the fall-out. During ‘Sorting & Inspection ’, our inspectors use documented work instructions to record quantity inspected and frequency of problem(s), and quantity certified on an Inspection Report.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reads, understands, acknowledges and performs documented ‘Work Instructions’.
- Certifies incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting, labeling and quarantining rejected materials.
- Certifies in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting, labeling and quarantining rejected material.
- Certifies finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting, labeling and quarantining rejected materials.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database when instructed by Lead Inspector.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Skills and Specifications
- Should have the ability to competently and effectively manage time and complete assigned work.
- Should be a team player and have the ability to coordinate with fellow workers.
- Should be compliant with all safety regulation and the ability to use warehouse machinery.
Education and Qualifications
- High school degree, GED certification or an equivalent qualification from a certified college.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to repeatedly lift 30 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for four or more hours at a time.
- Must be able to bend, reach, and manipulate bulky objects.
