About the role: The Carrier Specialist is the key player for the procurement and management of high-quality truckload carriers in one of our largest and most prestigious departments. You’ll manage relationships with carriers and work hand in hand developing tariff pricing, escalating relationship issues, and be the go-to liaison for handling all account specific opportunities between the TQL Truckload Team and the carriers. What you’ll be doing:
Source truckload carriers, negotiate rates, and manage contracts, terms of service and renewals
Establish and maintain long-lasting, sustainable relationships with customers and carrier partners
Develop and execute truckload negotiation strategies
Collaborate with carriers on continual improvement initiatives and ensure goals are aligned for success
Analyze account-specific opportunities, conduct bids with carrier partners, and manage contract renewals
Work with truckload management on pricing and operating initiatives, testing, and implementation
Act as the escalation point to resolve service issues from sales and operations
Consistently maintain current knowledge of the market to best prepare for success in carrier relationships
What you need:
1 year track record of success in developing carrier relationships or applicable field
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle conflict
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Self-starting, proactive and resourceful qualities
Excellent, fast paced work ethic with strong attention to detail
