The content editor is an integral part of the content team responsible for the overall voice, messaging, and editorial and grammatical standards of multiple concurrent projects to support recruitment, communication, branding, and content of the web novels App.
Responsibilities
Responsible for establishing and maintaining high editorial standards across app content and related channels
Supports the work of the content team by writing and proofreading copy for marketing initiatives such as emails, social media content, advertising copy, and web content
Supports project leads and Business Development team in evaluating prospective web novels from individual authors and publishers
Serves as a resource for contracted authors to help with story structure and editing and proofreading
Supports additional internal creative projects in other divisions
Other digital projects as assigned
Brand/Publishing Standards
Responsible for maintaining high editorial standards across all branded communications
Makes recommendations for updates/changes to processes where appropriate
Stays up to date on current publishing trends
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline (preferably in English, communications, or journalism)
At least 4 years of work experience in writing/editing
Book publishing industry experience required
High proficiency with Microsoft suite, grammar style guides, and online tools such as Grammarly
Experience working with social networking tools (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube)
Must be able to multitask and meet deadlines – Attention to detail is essential.
Must be nimble, creative, and willing to pitch in to meet company goals.
