Billing & Audit Compliance Specialist
Reports to: Vice President, Operations
Location: Salt Lake City Office / Layton Office / Some Remote Work
Employment Status: Part-Time with potential to move to Full-Time.

As the Billing & Audit Compliance Specialist, you have the opportunity to showcase your incredible attention to detail, build rapport with the clinicians, and lead our auditing efforts to maintain compliance in all aspects of the business.
- To be successful in this role, you need to recognize and understand the level of impact that this position has on the business.
- Act with an extreme sense of ownership in your role and communicate effectively with all team members to share context and maintain transparency with the company on audit-related issues.
- Be an expert in Medicaid, Private Pay, and insurance billing best practices.
- Create, submit and ensure all required documentation is completed for accurate billing and claim submission.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of ICD 10 and CPT coding.
- You will need to have a high level of focus, build, and maintain relationships with our external auditing partners, lead all self-auditing processes, make recommendations for improvements, and follow up with a high sense of urgency.
- Success in this role also means having a deep understanding of the challenges our clinicians face and adjusting your work schedule to be methodical and consistent. You will need to be dependable so that the clinical team can anticipate when “fixes” will be coming through and be able to have an open communication style about what works and what doesn’t.

This position connects with all aspects of the business; from referrals to ensure intake paperwork is completed correctly to clinicians on audit compliance, to billing so that all items needed for proper billing and communicates with the owners and leadership team regularly at a high level.
If you were the Billing & Audit Compliance Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Leading auditing efforts for the company, both internal and external to meet all State of Utah contract compliance.
- Partner with the rest of the Support Team to streamline and simplify processes.
- Have a deep understanding of our current contracts for audit compliance but also identify future opportunities to expand our service models.
- Be the content expert for all things audit and compliance-related.
- Processing claims, data entry, and auditing for errors.

- Be forward-thinking when it comes to identifying ways to implement new systems, software, or best practices to streamline the audit process. Make evidence and data-based recommendations on how to best move forward with these systems and tools.
