Overview
Pathologists’ Assistants Master Program. This person will serve as Clinical Education Coordinator of the Program. An experienced and licensed Pathologists’ Assistant as part of the management/faculty team.
Responsibilities
Responsible for providing supervision and coordination of clinical rotations
Review of student performance
Monitoring outcomes and program feedback
Involved in the program continuous quality assessment and will teach within the program.
Monitoring the performance of the students in clinical rotations review all preceptors and site liaison qualifications to ensure compliance with NAACLS standard and requirements.
Interface with clinical faculty at rotation sites, participate in admission process, actively participate in periodic curriculum reviews, and in preparation of accreditation documents.
Co-participating in teaching in the following courses of the Pathologists’ Assistant Program: Practical Pathology I (7 credit hours) and Practical Pathology II (4 credit hours). The courses of Practical Pathology will include teaching of grossing and dissection of biopsy specimens, medium and high complexity surgical and resection specimens, and preparation of diagnostic intraoperative frozen sections.
Providing supervision and coordination of the instructional faculty in the academic and clinical phases of the education program.
Participating in the admissions process including application review, interview, and serving on the admissions committee.
Qualifications
Education/ Experience
5 yr Bachelors and Masters Required.
Must hold valid New York State license of Pathologists’ Assistant
Knowledge/ Skills
General Administrative Duties.
Exceptional analytical problem solving skills, collaboration, and matrix management skills.
Requires ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with frequent high levels of urgency or sensitivity
Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in a team environment.
Good interpersonal skills are required both written and oral
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
