What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker � Cancer Center position at Tower Health?
Responsible for utilizing the therapeutic and case management processes to ensure delivery of quality behavioral health and social services to clients at The Regional Cancer Center (RCC). Facilitates the Caregivers Support Group. Performs comprehensive assessment and plans of intervention and provides quality psychotherapy. Completes initial evaluation within first session including interviewing client and family members to assess the medical, social, financial, emotional, cognitive, cultural and environmental status of the client. This includes the client's personal and capacity-building goals. Assesses client and family levels of understanding of diagnosis, prognosis and coping methods. Provide support, counseling and case management throughout the continuum of the illness. Utilize social work methodologies to assist client and families to cope with the effects of a new diagnosis, terminal diagnosis, survivorship, and/or implications of cancer and cancer treatment that may have an impact on their quality of life, work and family life, income and independence. Collaborates psychosocial care with other relevant disciplines within and outside of the Cancer Center.
Qualifications
MSW required. 3 years community based social work experience and experience working with oncology or critical illness patients required. Bilingual skills strongly desired.
