What are the responsibilities and job description for the Center Aide - Cary Tennis Park position at Town of Cary?
The Cary Tennis Park is seeking vibrant, efficient and creative individuals to serve it's citizens. You may be the right person for this job if you are at least 18 years of age and passionate about giving back to the community by serving in an administrative role and providing exemplary customer service to citizens visiting or contacting our facility. Work involves reserving tennis courts, entering accurate program registration data into a computer, processing customer inquiries, handling general office duties, obtaining, and dispensing accurate information concerning departmental programs, and meeting the demands of various customer needs of our facility. Tennis experience is helpful. Reserves tennis courts for public and teaching staff;
Oversees court bookings for certain user groups (annual passholders, seniors, meet-up groups, joint use high school PE classes).
Proactively identifies facility needs and suggests solutions;
Serves as a receptionist, answers telephone, and greets the public in person;
Communicates with patrons to address concerns;
Provides Town information and materials to citizens or redirects the citizen to the appropriate staff;
Notifies patrons of cancelations, changes, or updates;
Assists in the orientation and training of new temporary staff;
Operates standard office equipment;
Follows up with supervisor and/or program assistant as needed;
Enforces Town of Cary policies and procedures;
Opens and/or closes and secures the facility when assigned;
Operates computer; computer work may be extensive;
Registers citizens for Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources programs;
Maintains citizen accounts;
Sells items through Point of Service and performs basic accounting for money received through the cash register;
Assists with setup and take down of events;
Provides support during events;
Assists patrons with myCary registration system;
Educates citizens on Cary Tennis Park offerings;
Maintains office files;
Gathers and distributes mail daily;
Troubleshoots problems and issues;
Manages special projects; examples may include but are not limited to:
• Hiring temporary staff
• Assisting with periodic inventory and restocking of supplies and resale items
Perform other job-related tasks as required. General knowledge of computers and related software; general knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; ability to complete assignments accurately and prior to the established deadline; skill in the operation of common office equipment; general knowledge of cash collection procedures; ability to meet the public effectively; ability to communicate effectively; ability to deal with the public in a firm but tactful manner; ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships with others; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; ability to acquire knowledge of policies, procedures and services of the center, division and department; ability to maintain filing systems. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and must be at least 18 years of age.
Requires possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
