What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Clerk I - Police Department Timekeeper position at Town of Davie?
Under general supervision, performs fiscal control and governmental accounting work in a division of a large Town department. Is responsible for various parts of the bookkeeping cycle including billing, receipts, deposits, balancing and control. Reports to division supervisor.
Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by vocational course work in bookkeeping or accounting;
One (1) to two (2) years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting-clerical work.
- Prepares payroll for appropriate supervisor's verification and checks verification for final entry into computer.
- Receives and records employee requests for vacation, compensatory and sick leave, reviews computer for accrual records; enters information into computer and additionally must keep some independent manual records.
- Processes employee attendance and leave records to compute payroll, sending to Budget & Finance Department; receives and distributes paychecks; maintains and prints records of earnings and leave time.
- Receives and answers employee inquiries about payroll and leave time, referring questions to Budget & Finance Department as necessary.
- Prepare OT cost reports and other staffing reports as requested.
- Researches price data and prepares requisitions for purchase orders; processes purchase orders, routing to appropriate supervisor, as necessary, before sending to vendor; reconciles invoice with goods received; processes request for payment to Budget & Finance Department; maintains records of transactions, suggesting budget revisions as necessary; contacts accounts payable technicians regarding discrepancies in invoices and accounts.
- Maintains petty cash fund, submitting expenditures for approval and distributing funds as approved; prepares and submits records of expenditures to Budget & Finance office for reimbursement.
- Receives monies from Court Liaison and records division, submitting memo of receipts and such funds to Budget & Finance Department.
- Visible tattoos above the collarbone on the neck, face, head, scalp or on the hands;
- Used tobacco products within six (6) months of the date of this application;
- Used any illegal controlled substances within three (3) years of the date of this application;
- Steroid usage within five (5) years of the date of this application.
