Human Resources Director
The Town of Dover (pop. 6,200) is recruiting for a Human Resources Director.
As a key member of the Town’s management team reporting to the Town Administrator (Chief Administrative Officer), this position is responsible the Town’s personnel matters. Primary responsibilities include: recruitment and orientation of new employees, fringe benefits administration, training/employee development, maintenance of the Town’s personnel classification and compensation system, compliance with the Town’s Personnel Rules and Regulations as well as state and federal employment law, and providing staff support for the Town’s Personnel Board. Serves as the Town’s Affirmative Action Officer with the goal of establishing and maintaining a diverse workforce.
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration or related field required. A Master’s degree is preferred. Three to five (3-5) previous experience in human resources either in a local/state government or not-for-profit organizations is preferred. Working knowledge of office automation software applications is desired.
FY24 compensation plan hiring range is $91,103 to $101,967. Depending on education and experience, initial compensation rate may be higher to a maximum of $115,547. Compensation package includes health insurance, generous vacation time and retirement benefits. Flexible hours and good working environment provided.
