What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water/Sewer Technician position at Town of Oak Grove?
This is a full-time position. Beginning salary is $10.00 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older, possess a valid, state issued driver’s license and pass a drug screen and physical.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of proper water works plumbing methods and techniques; experience in the operation of light and some heavy equipment, experience in operating a variety of hand tools; ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Example of Duties:
Install water and sewer lines, disconnect service lines, installs and repair valves, digs holes and pours cement caused by water/sewer leaks, assist in the operation of the sewer machine, assists in general water meter maintenance, installation, removal and repair, reads water meters, perform related duties as assigned. This position also requires employee to be on a rotating on-call schedule for emergency, after hours calls.
