The Town of Williston Police Department invites applications for a full-time public safety Dispatcher position. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring public safety by efficiently handling emergency and non-emergency calls and directing them to the appropriate authorities and personnel.
If you possess exceptional communication skills, the ability to remain composed under pressure, and a strong desire to make a positive impact on your community, we want to hear from you!Additional qualifications for this role include the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and proficiently use communication and dispatching systems. Additionally, timeliness, active listening, calmness, and attention to detail are essential. Applicants must also pass a comprehensive criminal background check and obtain NCIC certification within six months of hire. While previous experience in public safety dispatching is preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement.The Town of Williston offers an excellent compensation package including health and dental insurance, retirement benefits, holidays, vacation, and sick leave. The starting wage rate is between $25-$28 per hour and is subject to review based on the experience of the selected candidate. Work schedules vary and may include nights, weekends, holidays, and possible overtime.
