Primary Purpose:
- Business Analysis; The application of knowledge, skills and techniques to realize and deliver services needed to satisfy the organization business goals and objectives.
- Systems Analysts may serve as change agents who identify the organizational improvements needed, design systems to implement those changes, and train and motivate others to use the systems.
- The Business System Analyst is the liaison between the business line and technology, The BA will be an advocate for the business to identify and deliver technology and business solutions.
- The Business System Analyst will be the catalyst for supporting and maintaining the business solutions in production.
Essential Responsibilities:
- The Business System Analyst works with stakeholders from all business units and related third parties to define and document business processes and software requirements for business and technology initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional business process re-engineering teams and continuous improvement efforts. Identify and understand the business problem and the impact of the proposed solution on the organization’s operations.
- Evaluate internal & external customer business needs, contributing to strategic planning of information systems and technology directions.
- Document project requirements, scope, objectives, and benefit expectations.
- Evaluate potential software solutions and the system architecture to ensure that they meet business requirements.
- Contribute to project plans.
- Develop and facilitate test plans and scripts.
- Deploy/implement solutions as directed by the through use of project management techniques.
- Liaise with business partners during preliminary installation and testing of new products and services.
- Maintain detailed documentation regarding all implemented solutions.
- Implement System Level changes as directed by project implementation guidelines and specifications.
- Follow Change Management practices to effectively implement system and process changes.
Minimum Required Skills and Competencies:
- Two years of recent experience working as a business or system analyst.
- Two years financial services experience or banking service provider experience.
- Recent experience working with banking core software platforms and related systems.
- Ability to work independently, analyze data, take and recommend appropriate actions with minimal supervision.
- Superior analytical, organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to think outside the box, show initiative, and be inquisitive.
- Dependable, self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- Proficient in detailed research and documentation.
- Ability to manage and prioritize workload effectively and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- High level of skill with Microsoft Office applications, primarily Outlook, Word and Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal skills.
Desired & Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Information Technology.
- Experience & knowledge of the financial services industry.
- PMI – PMP & or PBA certification or equivalent experience.
- Recent experience in Quality Assurance and Project Management.
- Recent experience working with banking systems such as: FIS/IBS core.
- Recent experience working with ServiceNow.
