Bastian Solutions, a Toyota Advanced Logistics company, is looking for a Learning and Development Specialist to join our growing team. The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for assisting in our Learning and Development growth for Bastian Solutions by assisting in the effort to develop, implement and facilitate adult learning and development activities. The Learning and Development Specialist will use their knowledge as a specialist to create learning materials, select appropriate delivery methods, facilitate material, and assess learning effectiveness for the workforce. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated Learning and Development specialist who wants to impact the learning and development space at a fast-growing Toyota Industries company.
Responsibilities
- Works alongside the Learning and Development Manager to assesses training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, team leads, and individual contributors
- Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees
- Serving Subject Matter Expert for (digital) learning approach, design and development projects
- Applying tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
- Develops unique training programs to fulfill workers specific needs to maintain or improve job skills
- Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials
- Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, simulations, and videos
- Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements
- Assesses training materials
- Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development
- Performs other related duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 – 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required
- Strong presentation skills – In person and Virtual
- Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
- Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- Ability to design and implement effective training and development
- Ability to use a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software
- Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills are required
- The ability to perform duties with minimal direction is required
