General Purpose of the Position
Based in Murfreesboro, TN, the H&C Rents technician is responsible for maintenance of the entire rental fleet which features several different types of construction equipment. Repair, recondition, service and assemble construction rental equipment for the company and its customers. Perform all work as quickly, efficiently, accurately, and completely as possible to ensure customer satisfaction and company profitability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Service/Repair Work
- Repair, service, recondition, and assemble equipment as assigned by the GM Corporate Assets
- Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed.
- Adhere to all safety rules, procedures, and practices of the company.
- Suggest any additional repairs needed to the GM Corporate Assets and Rental Manager /or the customer.
- Perform equipment annual inspections on Booms and Scissor lifts.
- Responsible for acquiring and maintaining an adequate and complete set of hand tools necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Utilize all available resources to provide the highest level of customer service possible.
- Training/Upkeep
- Maintain and care for all shop tools and equipment.
- Keep a neat and orderly work area or service vehicle.
- Maintain and care for personal tools, tool chest, and equipment.
- Continuously review all product service bulletins, updates, and information relating to the repair and servicing of construction equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of changes in equipment, technology, and models.
- Reporting/Record Keeping
- Prepare parts requisitions for service/repair work being performed.
- Prepare reports and labor details required for assignments and turn them in to the GM Corporate Assets.
- Account for all time worked, materials used, and work orders to which the time and materials are related.
Skills and Abilities Required
- All Verbal and Written Communication must be done in the English Language.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technician procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Ability to use reference books, materials.
- Certification and ability to operate material handling & construction equipment.
- General mechanical aptitude and ability is necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
- General understanding of Windows operating system (including email and MS suite applications) and cell phone usage.

Education and Experience Required
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
