What we're looking for
Toyota Motor North America's (TMNA) Corporate Accounting Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Senior Analyst, General Accounting.
The primary responsibility of this role is to act as the key resource for company investment accounting tasks, FX activities, as well as key general accounting and reporting monthly close activities. This role is responsible for all tasks related to company investments including month end close entries, fluctuation analysis, reconciliations, reporting to Japan, and footnotes. The role collaborates closely with team members from other departments to complete key general accounting activities.
Reporting to the Manager, General Accounting, the person in this role will support the Corporate Accounting's department's objective of timely financial close and accurate reporting of financial information.
What you'll be doing
- Perform all close tasks related to company investments. Tasks will include monthly entries, fluctuation analysis, reporting. Position will serve as the subject matter expert. Perform key month-end close procedures ensuring all key tasks and SOX procedures are completely and accurately performed on a timely basis.
- Perform monthly validation of FX interfaces to SAP as well as FX Revaluation processes. Analyze findings and provide results to financial reporting management for review and resolution.
- Prepare various ad hoc reports for tax and compliance.
- Perform monthly account reconciliation of assigned accounts.
- Compliance with and support of external and internal audits which include public accounting quarterly reviews, annual audits and controls testing.
- Update desk procedures and relevant policies, procedures, and SOX narratives.
Qualifications/ What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5 years in accounting and financial reporting/auditing
- 2 years in public accounting
- Demonstrated experience with accounting, financial reporting, finance, or other relevant experience.
- Proven analytical, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Proven ability to work well independently under demanding deadlines and function effectively in a team-based environment.
- Enthusiastic self-starter with ability multi task and be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple working groups
- Organized and very detail oriented
- Demonstrates proficiency in MS Excel skills and ability to work with systems.
