Job Title: Security Officer
Reports to: General Manager
Purpose for the Position: To ensure the safety and security of designated properties, assets, personnel, and visitors. They will investigate and report irregularities and guard against unlawful behavior.
Requirements:
- Patrol the interior of and the perimeter of the hotel and the property to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions.
- Respond to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and/or property.
- Promote safe work practices.
- Initiates preliminary investigations into incidents, as needed.
- Writes reports and ensures accuracy of necessary documentation, as needed.
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest issues in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Assist the public spaces of the hotel and other departments as needed.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures, follows safety and security procedures and rules.
- Perform any related duties as requested.
- Possess knowledge of all aspects of facility.
- Participate in team and company meetings.
- Attends monthly department meetings.
- Completes projects as determined by Management.
- Nights, weekends, and holidays required.
- Have computer skills and the ability to learn hotel operating system, MS office and internet.

Physical Demands: Lifting 30 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and small tools. Walking, standing, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing are required.
Environmental Conditions: Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered “inside” if the worker spends approximately 75% or more of the time inside.
Supervisory Responsibility: Hires, trains and supervises full-time, part-time and/or temporary workers.
