What are the responsibilities and job description for the OSP Supervisor position at Track Utilities LLC?

Description:
This is an integral position that provides day-to-day leadership, direction, implementation, and maintenance of controls for Track offerings.
It is imperative that this person upholds the corporate Core Values and leads by example. This person will be accountable for attaining organizational goals and objectives, deploying and implementing corporate policies. Is responsible for the safety, quality, training, and profitability for assigned departments.

Plan the Project:

  • Define the scope of the project in collaboration with senior management
  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
  • Review the project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion

Staff The Project:

  • In consultation with the appropriate manager, recruit, interview and select staff and with appropriate skills for the project activities
  • Manage project staff according to the established policies and practices of the Company
  • Ensure that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the Company and the project
  • Contract with qualified and approved subcontractors to work on the project as appropriate

Implement the Project:

  • Execute the project according to the project plan
  • Develop forms and records to document project activities as needed
  • Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
  • Send out the daily work schedules
  • Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
  • Communicate and update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
  • Have multiple calls with the client's representative on a weekly basis
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project and Company standards

Control the Project:

  • Write reports on the project for management, as needed
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures
  • Monitor all project billing on a regular basis (weekly)
  • Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase

Job Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the utility construction industry with both aerial and underground telecommunications experience. Must have the ability to work in a fast, paced dynamic environment working on highly visible, time-sensitive projects.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of management or supervisory experience preferred
  • Two years of prior project management experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook (email),
  • Working knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Simple project and cost accounting

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks, a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical as a requirement of the job, and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
