Criminal Justice Assistant/Installer
Summary We are a private criminal justice agency seeking a part-time assistant and equipment installer in the Franklin, TN area. The candidate will install and remove GPS and alcohol tracking equipment at the local jail. The candidate will fill in occasionally when one of our employees is on vacation. The ideal candidate can travel to nearby counties, if requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Conducts orientation meetings with new clients to explain program rules and regulations. Verbally explains the client contract in detail to ensure that the client understands his/her responsibilities
- Installs and removes electronic monitoring equipment on clients when necessary at the local jail
- Assists Nashville and Murfreesboro Offices when employees are on vacation or when the workload is heavy
- Represents the company in contacts with elected officials and other public figures in the criminal justice system
- Other duties as required
Working Conditions:
- Will work independently
- Use of standard office equipment such as copier, computer, keyboard, telephone and fax machine.
- Bending, stooping, squatting and use of hands and fingers to place electronic monitoring equipment on participants.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to install electronic monitoring equipment and to perform data entry.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds to deliver and install equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, etc. as part of daily job responsibilities
Minimum Requirements
- Must have valid driver's license
- Work well with little supervision
- Above average work attendance history

- Effective verbal and written communication skills with employees, community contacts, government officials and participants

- Demonstrate sound judgment and even temperament. Ability to maintain self-control in stressful situations, such as interpersonal confrontations or emergencies. Ability to defuse hostile or unstable situations

- Ability to deal with a variety of clients with sensitivity
- Ability to type 35 words per minute to develop and maintain case records by performing data entry
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software
- Tattoos or piercings must be minimal and discrete
Minimum Legal Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- High school diploma
- Legally approved to work in the United States
- No felony arrests. No misdemeanor arrests of moral turpitude. No arrests of any kind in the last five years.
- No drug use. Ability to pass initial and on-going random drug screens

Hours
There are no guaranteed hours for this position. This position works on an on-call or as needed basis. Ideal for someone looking for a job that provides occasional, extra spending money.
Availability
We will work around your schedule and availability. Installations at the jail can happen any time of day or night. The candidate will be required to be at the jail within a few hours of the call. We are seeking 1-2 people knowing that someone won't be available all the time.
Pay
- Mileage paid at federal rate which is currently $62.5 cents per mile
- $35.00 per install that happens Monday-Friday 7am to 6pm
- $70.00 per install that happens Weekends, Holidays or during the week from 6pm to 7am.
- $17.00 per hour for general office work
