Job Title: CMO - Traction Ag INC.
Your impact:
Reporting to the CEO with a board advisory role. The CMO will manage and be responsible for key initiatives that fulfill the company’s near and long term goals. This individual is able to think at a strategic level and spot new opportunities to do things better or differently while managing execution as the team evolves and grows.
An excellent CMO candidate is both people and metrics-driven, thrives in a growth-stage environment, and has general knowledge for a variety of marketing programs and channels. Fundamentally, you will lead and grow a marketing team that is the key contributor to revenue generation. You will be responsible for managing initiatives that foster consistent demand (measured by MQLs, SQLs, and pipeline creation in Hubspot) while also building Traction’s overall brand.
What you’ll do:
Build a marketing team that is seamlessly integrated with sales.
Define and execute marketing strategies to support the company’s objectives, including both online and offline
Craft the overall strategy for demand generation and customer engagement from key in-person and online initiatives in areas of focus outlined above. Manage budget, document processes, and set expectations with the team to maximize results and success
Be the de facto content manager (offer process, guidance, and framework) to ensure all supporting content for focus areas outlined above -- such as email campaigns, presentations, etc. -- is in line with Traction’s brand and objectives for given campaigns or initiatives
Develop and maintain key relationships with a defined group of influencers, advisors, customers, and partners that foster best practices, case studies, referrals, and thought leadership
Manage the team to execute marketing strategies via measurable campaigns that meet company KPI’s and objectives (track success in Hubspot)
Bring new ideas and recommendations to the table to fulfill marketing’s SQL and brand goals, and, where appropriate, bring ideas to fruition
Join the leadership team to work hand-in-hand with other executives and peers as needed to reach company goals and marketing goals
Continuously optimize marketing campaigns and tactics using data-driven insights and testing to improve performance and drive growth.
Continuously assess the competitive landscape and identify opportunities for differentiation and competitive advantage in the market
Fine-tune current brand strategy (positioning, value proposition, messaging, voice, customer profiles, etc.)
Build knowledge and capabilities in online marketing, branding, etc. for personal growth and development
What you bring:
Proven experience as CMO, Director of Marketing or similar role.
Demonstrable experience in developing efficient strategies for field marketing, events, and customer-centric marketing
Ability to apply varied marketing techniques across digital and non-digital channels
Proficient in modern business software (e.g. Hubspot CRM & marketing automation)
A leader with both creative and analytical capabilities
Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities
A desire to work in a startup environment, post Series A
Any experience in SAAS or Ag-Tech would be beneficial.
