Field Services Health and Safety Specialist

We are seeking a dynamic, self-driven Health and Safety Specialist to administer our H&S programs and practices to our Field Service and Technical Service groups. We would prefer this individual to live close to our Saraland location, near one of our NE locations, or near a major airport as this position will require significant travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Competency in recognizing and controlling safety hazards and risks; and coordinating with operations and other support staff to resolve issues that impact the health and wellbeing of our team members. 
• Be responsible for and assisting our field management personnel in ensuring compliance with occupational hygiene and safety regulatory requirements; for conducting Health and Safety (H&S) related training, for identifying risk reduction methods, and working with our field managers in implementing those methods.
• Work with personnel in performing risk assessments and ensuring needed controls and protective measures are completed; and will prepare H&S related reports and correspondence, both internal and external. 
• Work with all levels of the organization including management, supervisors, and other personal on all H&S related matters.
• Ensure sites are prepared for and ready to respond in the event of an emergency; document and data control, planning, policies, training, accidents, incidents, and corrective/preventative action. 
• Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) for incident reviews for injuries, near misses, and property damage.
• Partner with operations on appropriate corrective actions should circumstances warrant them.
• Be responsible for the roll-out of monthly safety briefings that are related to incident, injury, and OSHA recordable trends.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science or closely related field.
• Zero to three years of experience in health and safety in field operations are required.  
• Individual must have strong technical knowledge, and ability to apply skill sets based on assignment and location. 
• Experience with confined space entry and tank cleaning operations; and candidates who currently maintain 40-Hour HAZWOPER and/or 30-Hour Construction Safety certifications, are preferred.
