Tradebe's Subsidiary, Norlite Corporation, operates two high-temperature rotary kilns that use recycled fuels and other recoverable products to produce a lightweight aggregate that is used in bridges, buildings, specialized fill, and growing media for green roofs. Norlite achieves 99.9995% destruction removal efficiency on the most difficult to incinerate organic materials. Processes are in place at Norlite to ensure the integrity of the waste storage tanks and kiln system. Operating conditions are constantly monitored to ensure that fuel is burned completely. In addition, emissions are carefully monitored, controlled and treated to prevent air pollution. Norlite sets the standard found in the new hazardous waste combustor MACT regulations for lightweight aggregate kilns.
Job description
The role
- Assisting with facility compliance for all Federal, State, and Local Environmental Permits, including but not limited to a RCRA Part B, Storm Water, Air Permit, and 10-Day Transfer Permit
- Preparing and maintaining Federal, State, and Local compliance reports, fees and certifications for Environmental Permits as directed.
- Conducting and maintaining Environmental Permit inspections, as well as maintaining Export/Import Reports
- Interactions with Environmental Agencies with departmental support.
- Producing regulatory analysis for projects to determine how a rule applies to new, existing, and modified operations as directed.
- Providing assistance in resolving issues concerning environmental compliance through research and conferring with appropriate operations and maintenance personnel.
- Participate in training for compliance with environmental permits.
- Support Standard Operating Procedures for compliance with environmental permits.
- Assist with compliance audit.
- Maintain a working knowledge of existing and proposed regulations that affect Tradebe operations through independent research, training classes, and conferences.
- Partnering with the other areas to ensure company objectives of safety, compliance, and productivity are made.
