Description

TPD is seeking enthusiastic experienced civil engineers to join our team. Our ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, the willingness to work cohesively within a team and the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.

 
 

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing concept development, preliminary engineering, and final design documents for traffic signals, signing/striping, maintenance and protection of traffic, ITS subsystems, lighting systems.
  • Perform traffic analysis using software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, and HCS ; perform lighting analysis using software such as Visual and Agi32.
  • Prepare signal design layouts, ITS system layouts, lighting system layouts, including electrical and communication components with necessary design calculations for transportation-related projects on roadways, trails, and sidewalks
  • Lead the preparation of engineering drawings using CAD software, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
  • Lead the preparation of construction cost estimates utilizing Microsoft Excel.
  • Prepare study reports, technical memorandums, and client presentations using MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Provide technical assistance on traffic engineering studies and design projects managed by other project managers and task leads.
  • Willingness to learn new engineering methods and concepts, and the ability to incorporate these methods and concepts into work tasks without repetitive instruction.

Job Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience, however, we are willing to tailor the opportunity for varying levels of experience based on candidate qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering
  • PE license is preferred
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD, Microstation, HCS , SYNCHRO/SimTraffic, and VISSIM
  • Familiarity with NJDOT, NJTA, NJTPA, and SJTPO design standards and procedures, as well as the MUTCD.
  •  Experience with lighting design software
  • Aptitude for detail-oriented work assignments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Driver’s License
