- Call and use web portals to find out the status of unpaid claims and respond to payer requests and denials
- Work on claim edits in the billing program to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Strive to keep balances over 60 days below the monthly goal of 10% of AR
- Review chart notes to determine the correct coding for claims
- Answer patient calls to correct any account errors and assist with patient payment options
- Provide explanations of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to patients and resolve any discrepancies
- 1-2 years of experience in medical billing/coding/AR
- Experience with medical AR insurance follow-up
- Familiarity with Epic is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
