Trane has a new exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Project Specialist I in our Mid-Atlantic Region, Equipment group. Locations this role supports are the Mid-Atlantic Region. (Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Wilkes-Barre, Pittsburgh & Baltimore). Home office for this role could reside in any of these five (5) locations.
As a Project Specialist I, you will be responsible for project set-up, financial management, and execution through closeout. This includes project documentation, ordering of equipment, job costing, financial review, project tracking, invoice management, freight issues and administrative closeout of each project. This position is required to closely interact with the assigned project staff and the customer to ensure the timely completion of each project.
Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned:
• In this role you will be assigned as the primary contact for Fulfillment of projects for specific Account Manager(s)/Customers.
• Ownership of the project from time of turnover from Account Managers
• Work with the customer to resolve project related issues.
• Obtain proper project approvals.
Work with Accounts Receivable to resolve financial issues.
• The tasks to perform include, but are not limited:
• Plans and reviews assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters, and sets procedures to accomplish system goals.
• Maintains and communicates job recaps to the customers throughout the project with and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
• Schedule and participate in internal project team meetings to ensure accurate transfer of information.
• Responsible for project credit approvals, entering and releasing equipment orders.
• Responsible for Invoicing, project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management.
• Responsible for project reconciliation, which includes but not limited to the following: validate project scope, accurate setup of the project, reviewing billing backlog and coordinates/communicates with Account Managers / Project Engineers / Service / Parts / Customers, as necessary to overcome obstacles.
• Dealing with freight issues and freight claims, when necessary.
• Working with the customer on short shipment issues.
• Share project concerns with Account Manager, Fulfillment Leaders and legal staff as appropriate.
• Participate in and contribute to Lean improvement activities (Operational Excellence).
• Jobsite / Customer Visits with the Account Manager as needed.
• Assisting the Team with achieving A ratings on project follow-up surveys.
• Travel to other offices within the region, if/when needed.

• One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three (3) plus years of related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven experience prioritizing tasks, in order to meet tight deadlines within a high-paced environment.
• Familiarity with the operation of HVAC Systems a plus, but not required.
