What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Clerk position at Trane Technologies?
This position supports Inbound and Outbound warehouse processes at the Tradeport site on a rotational basis, including Inbound processes: receiving, putaway, replenishment, Outbound processes: picking, packing, consolidation of orders, shipping and loading and unloading of trucks. The position requires good computer skills, numerical aptitude, and the physical ability to lift and handle items weighing in excess of 50 lbs. This position also requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in distribution warehouse processes and forklift operator certification, or the ability to successfully pass a forklift operator certification course within 30 days. Principle duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
a.) Perform Outbound processes: picking product with order selector, forklift, stock chaser, reach truck, and turret truck
b.) Pack orders in the Shipping area
c.) Process packages by performing picking, put-away and replenishment functions
d.) Physically breakdown outbound orders and audit order to packing slip
e.) Reconcile any quantity or product discrepancies
f.) Document order errors and report findings to Supervisors
g.) Acts as a technical/quality resource in regard to quality issues as needed
h.) Perform Inbound processes: receiving functions, including processing BOL’s, verify receiving issues, and process inter-company shipments
i.) Audit supplier inbound orders
j.) Verification of product received to packing slip
k.) Verifying identification per case
l.) License plate audit
m.) Perform recounts for verification
n.) Reconcile variances
o.) Process manufacturer and purchase riders
p.) Identify and process freight claims
q.) Communicate with Lacrosse on discrepancies
r.) Assist in expediting “hot” requests
s.) Perform cycle counting as required
t.) Teamwork and collaboration with other team members
u.) Cross train and support in other areas as requested
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in distribution warehouse environment required
- Must have good computer skills and the ability to learn new software programs
- Ability to multi-task and comprehend process and training instructions
- Attention to details
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work with others and in teams
- Good communication skills, oral and written
- Able to work overtime as needed
