The Team We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Investment Content Consultant to join our Marketing team. Reporting to the Head of Investment Marketing this role will play a vital role in delivering initiatives designed to transform and elevate the Investment Marketing Strategy in Aegon. The Role The Investment Marketing team build Aegon’s investment marketing strategy, ensuring target audiences (financial advisers, employers, and investors) understand and ultimately select Aegon funds, something which has a multi-million pound impact on the firm’s revenue. This requires a deep understanding of investment strategies and a detailed knowledge of Aegon’s proposition and the platform market it operates in. The team presents often complicated investments within simple, clear marketing content underpinned by valuable proof points. This Senior Investment Content Consultant is a critical member of the Investment Marketing team. The role coordinates the firm’s investment marketing content and produces high-quality investment marketing materials through multiple routes. The role is also responsible for the management of Aegon’s investment marketing pitch materials. The aim is to support Aegon’s business objectives, increasing the takeup of Aegon funds to meet asset under management targets by promoting the firm’s in-house funds to both existing and new customers. In addition, the role supports Aegon’s assets under administration targets by promoting the wider investment offering, and particularly supporting Aegon’s distribution teams. Key responsibilities Create high impact, results-orientated investment marketing content for multiple audiences, but with a focus on content for financial advisers. This will cover both existing and new content. Own and develop a clear investment marketing content plan. Integrate requirements into wider department plans. Distribute content via a variety of media including web articles, webinars, adviser events, pitch materials and pdf documents. Collaborate with third party partners that can support investment content – such as in partner fund groups, fund research houses, discretionary fund managers and external commentators/influencers. Build effective working relationships to ensure they are both supported and are used to support Aegon investment messaging where appropriate. Manage risks, ensuring output meets regulations and TCF principles. Modernise, automate and innovate to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of collateral production. Ensure resources are coordinated effectively from across the business. Skills Outstanding communicator with proven ability to translate complex technical investment information into clear and compelling content. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. A deep understanding of Aegon’s investments, technical investment information, external industry themes, and the factors that influence how advisers build investment propositions. The ability to drive Aegon’s voice as an authority on investment topics, identifying and executing opportunities to help build the firm’s reputation among key audiences. Ensure content is targeted correctly, collaborating with marketing analytics/intelligence to segment client base and prospects for targeted content programmes. Knowledge A good understanding of the developing Responsible Investment (ESG) story and how though this, pensions marketing is evolving. A good understanding, demonstrable skills in the investment marketing space - investments in the context of pensions and investments. A good understanding, demonstrable skills in communicating with the following audiences: members and their advisors, employee (members) employee benefits consultants, employers, and trustees. A previous experience, a good understanding, demonstrable skills in managing delivery of communications and marketing collateral. A ability to work in a project environment, offering marketing communication solutions to complex issues.
