Welcome to the Transgender Health & Wellness Center
The Transgender Health & Wellness Center was founded in 2018 on the need to develop Transgender, Gender Non-Conforming and Intersex (TGI) leadership and to address transmisia and transphobia in workplaces that provide services to the TGI community for economic advantage of those marginalized persons. Its primary source of revenue is medically necessary hair removal and other services which in turn fund social service and advocacy positions. As of 2023, TH&WC has four locations: 1 in Palm Springs, 2 in Riverside and 1 in San Diego. In 2023, TH&WC opened the first Marsha P. Johnson LGBTQ Youth Drop In Center in Palm Springs. TH&WC is presently the largest employer of TGI persons in Southern California and is the first Trans-Led Community Clinic in Southern California.
Position Summary:
A full time 40-hour position for program management of TH&WC’s domestic violence and sexual assault program with a high focus on the LGBTQ adult and youth population. Ensuring the needs of clients are met and moving towards self-sufficiency. $20-25.00 hour depending on qualifications and skill after probation.

Reporting Supervisor: Reports to the Director of Operations.

The business model is managed from a TGI perspective to navigate systemic abuse and barriers not often recognized by cisgender persons of privilege. It creates the next generation of community leadership and advocates for those without a voice at the table.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred. TH&WC does utilize multi language translator machines for different languages.
Live Scan and Second Chances:
TH&WC does not discriminate against those with criminal records and believes not only in second chances but, also understands how a privileged system can led others to survival crimes. LIVE scans are required. Depending on the conviction will determine if the application for a position is legally obtainable.
Position:
A Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault (DVSA) Program Manager oversees the program by utilizing critical thinking skills that ensure the success and growth of the program. This job requires out of the box complex thinking skills.
A DVSA Program Manager oversees the staff and clients under their care to ensure compliance, success, supervision and growth of the program.
Some of the duties include but are not limited to:
Record retaining for HUD and financial reimbursements.
Ensure the program is in compliance with contracts, partnership agreements, and all other funding requirements, program goals, and stakeholder expectations.
Operate as a contact person for all housing partners.
Address program matters including program monitoring by funders, responding to specific program inquiries from outside partners, and working with the Finance department to monitor rental assistance payments.
Staff Support & Development
Funding Support & Development
Provide direct supervision to assigned Housing Specialists working in assigned programs.
Plan and schedule on-going workload assignments, set and adjust work to be accomplished by staff, and prepare schedules for work completion.
Conduct weekly supervision meetings with staff, agencies and approved committees.
Assist in event fundraising, survey participants and other projects as needed.
Provide regular and appropriate feedback including training, opportunities for professional growth, verbal and written improvement plans when needed, and regular evaluations.
Program Outreach and Development.
In collaboration with the Housing Program Manager – Community Initiatives, oversee the region’s recruitment, engagement and retention of landlords to create and sustain a steady supply of housing for program participants.
Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) credentialed upon hiring.
Educate, network, and represent program to local agencies including community stakeholders, chambers of commerce, Business Improvement Districts, neighborhood councils and coalitions, law enforcement, city and county government, residents, and other organizations.
Develop an expansive and healthy resource list for TH&WC and Clients.
Provide periodic rental market information and strategic advocacy to internal media and policy staff to assist with regional improvement of affordable housing in the region.
Negotiate rental cost for client.
Reports, Records Retention, Contracts & Compliance
In coordination with the Chief Executive Officer and the Director of Operations, review and authorize all program and contract reports prior to submission.
Can listen to and feel the needs of the staff and their needs by utilizing critical thinking skills and empathy.
Review and explain contract scope and services to staff.
Submit regular monthly reports to management in a timely manner.
Perform periodic internal audits to ensure compliance with documentation and internal control standards.
Utilize critical thinking skills to ensure 100% reimbursement grants are utilized as the law allows.
Attending all monitoring site visits in person, virtual or by proxy.
What You Bring to the Table:
Ability to maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPAA standards.
Knowledge of Fair Housing and current rental market or able to learn.
A go getter and a team player.
Lived or academic experience in LGBTQ homeless and/or human services or working with vulnerable populations with a strong focus on the Transgender, Gender Non-Conforming and Intersex community.
Effective time management and communication skills. Includes speaking, listening, and writing in a clear, thorough, professional and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
Strong ability to effectively resolve and cope with immediate crisis situations.
Able to assist the CEO and Director of Operations in reminders, proficiency and compliance.
Strong organizational, detail orientated, cleanliness and time management skills. Excellent customer service.
Can maintain a respectful and non-judgmental relationship with clients, patients and the community.
Proven ability to work independently, effectively as an individual and part of a team with strong creative and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) years of administrative or clerical experience preferred in LGBTQ homeless services or related social services field or, advocacy leadership experience with strong skill in supervising others.
Three or more years of direct experience or lived experience with the Transgender, Gender Non-Conforming and Intersex community.
Experience with HIV, PrEP and PEP.
Master’s Degree in Social/Human Services, Business Administration or Real Estate or lived experience in the above.
Knowledge or experience in program management, experience preparing and monitoring budgets to meet compliance requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Social/Human Services or Business Administration
Experience analyzing program procedures and practices to identify systemic barriers and impediments to achieving goals and making recommendations for course correction.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Have employment eligibility verification.
Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends
Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
