What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Landman position at Transglobal Services LLC?
Overall research of property records and various public information/websites. Preparation, negotiation, and acquisition of leases and all land-related contracts, often with other companies and various types of interest owners. Handle consideration payments and budgets to acquire contracts with various landowners and other third parties as necessary.
Essential Functions
- Works with a multi-disciplinary team to accomplish goals and objectives within budgetary guidelines.
- Expert-level Landman with experience in all facets of Landman proficiencies
- Perform high-level land functions without direct supervision.
- Handle advanced tasks associated with land operations and title curative.
- Prepare all types of land-related contracts utilizing support as needed. Expert interpreting, negotiating, and preparing Land related contracts, including document redlines as needed.
- Interact and provide the Regional Land Manager, Regional Land Director, and customers with a high level of Land support and information critical to customer development efforts.
- Order take-off, abstracts, and title opinions
- Advanced knowledge in clearing titles for all projects
- Work with other members of the Land Department and support Regional Land Manager, and Regional Land Director to maintain all Land Records associated with projects.
- Extensive knowledge of all land-related activities, including but not limited to contracts, records, titles, leases, encroachments, surface agreements, road access agreements, and any other legally binding contracts associated with private lands and agencies such as TXRRC, TXGLO, DOT, BLM, NMSLO, University Lands, BIA, USACE, OCC, among other agencies as required.
- Work with customer’s legal departments, when necessary, in preparation of complex and non-standard type contracts
- Conduct due diligence in connection with acquisitions and divestiture of customer properties.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years’ experience as a Landman or similar role.
- Must have strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficient with Google Earth, and all Microsoft Office Suite products and advanced Excel skills.
- RL, RPL, CPL, and current TREC Licenses are strongly preferred.
- Active Notary License is strongly preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Includes networking, trade show functions, and business development through relationships and referrals.
Physical Demands
Combination of office, field, and sedentary; however, some filing is required. This would require lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and bending or standing as necessary, walking field.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, plus some evening networking, trade shows overnight, and local business development.
Travel
Occasional day and overnight travel may be required.
