What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Festival Manager position at Transit Tees, Inc.?
We are a small business in Wicker Park, Chicago called Transit Tees! We specialize in all things Chicago and CTA related. We are looking for an assistant festival manager to help us through the summer at various street festivals across Chicago. If you are someone who likes working outside, being around an active and lively crowd of people and enjoy being around live music then this position is a good fit for you! After the festival season is over we are looking for someone who will stay with us and help around the store with more general retail work and light production work. This individual will also be highly likely to step into the role of Festival Manager the following summer.
- Assist in the preparations and completion of all summer street festivals. (13 - 15 on Avg.)
- Restocking product, ringing customers out, load in/out help, booth setup, assist in the making of product for Festivals
- Willingness to work a high volume of weekends throughout the summer. Long shifts are sometimes required.
- All events are either Fri - Sun or Sat - Sun from 11am - 10pm. Load in on Fridays starts at 11 am and goes till 5pm, Load in on Saturdays starts at 8am and goes until 11am or 12pm. Load out is always 10pm - 12am on Sundays
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Willingness to work outside in hot summer temperatures.
- Loading and unloading the truck full of product, shelving units, displays, etc. Nothing is extremely heavy but there is a high volume of items to be lifted in a short amount of time.
- Ability to drive a 15 foot moving sized U-Haul truck
- We are also looking for someone who has the capability to drive a 15 foot U-Haul truck. This would involve going to a U-Haul location to pick the vehicle up, driving to the storefront to load the truck and then driving to the event to set up. You would then take the U-Haul back to the location it was picked up from. For load out it would be the same as loading in except the festival would be the first stop to load our product and displays back onto the truck and the storefront would be the last stop.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
